Nope, not even close. The Mustang 2.3 is a completely different motor, an overhead cam motor, the one in the Topaz is not.

With enough machining and welding, it might.

they make stainless valves, 1.7 rockers, and if you search hard enough you'll be able to find different springs i believe. You can also port out the intake and exhaust ports.

what year is your car? if your car is 88 or newer, any 88 or newer head will work off of a 2.3.

What makes you think you must replace the 'valve seats'? That's pretty unusual............

first upgrade should be a new mechanic;
I can not think of any way to determine a valve seat needs replaced without having the head off. a leak down test will only tell if the valve is sealing. you can look in the ports , but you need part of the engine disassembled for that. is it possible you mean valve seals? different animal. you can do those without taking the head off.
if you do remove the head the one of the best upgrades is to clean the carbon and crap off of all the parts. tops of pistons, runners,valves etc.

When i first start it I have full power (which still isn't much) but it when it warms up it loses almost all of its power. it spits and sputters, bogs down. at first I guessed it was an air or fuel problem but i can't see how it would work cold and not work warm. it still has enough power to hold a steady speed if the ground is level. it doesn't like to accelerate from red lights or stop signs and it slows drasticly on hills. a few times it has stalled in intersections (while tryin to accelerate) and while sitting at lights. sometimes i can restart it and put through but sometimes i have to put it in neutral and get off the road and let it cool for a while.

Try changing the TPS first.
I had similar problems with one of my 2nd gens and that was all that corrected the problem.
Mine was not throwing a code for it either.

Heck, I can get a head for you that you would LOVE. Larger valves, new seats if needed, shaved a bit to up compression a little, 1.7 rocker arms.

I was going to try and sell heads like this to people, but there just isn't the demand, and they are a little pricey.

You would still have to correctly identifiy what length of push rod you would need, too. but I can put you in the right direction for those.
