Hi Everyone, since I haven't contacted or ordered anything from Carbotech Performance Brakes in quite a while, I decided to call them on your behalf.

They put me in touch with Dan Puskar ,and this is what he told me is now available for our T/T cars.

Tempo - Topaz /84-94

Front Pads: code #CT257 , Bobcat 1521 $107 USD , AX6 $116 USD
Rear Shoes: code #CT8501, Bobcat 1521 $137 USD , AX6 $149 USD

When I asked Dan about a possible group buy, he told me that he would knock 15% off on a min. order for ten cars. He said that it could be more depending on the size of the order. So something to think about.

He said that the Bobcat 1521 would be the replacement for the CT1257-FT Super Street F front pads that I purchased back in /99, and is much improved over what I had.
Also the AX6 pads and shoes are used for autocross and track use, and could be used for street use, but I personally wouldn't recommend it ,due to the lack of heat build up in normal everyday driving .

Dan also recommended that we use AP Performance 5.1 brake fuild, and do a total bleed/ fuild change once a year for max. performance.

Now since some of you are new members, I would just like to let you all know that my Carbotech front pads ( and cryo hardened rotors,of which are no longer required) lasted me for more than 4 yrs. of 'spirited' driving, with min. non damaging brake dust and zero noise.
With the HP rear shoes now being available, it could very well eliminate the need for additional brake mods, for most of our members requireing additional HP braking power.

You can learn more from viewing Carbotech's FAG section @ http://www.ctbrakes.com/ ( we should include this valuble info. in our Tech Section, its very informative.)

So there you have it... so please let me know your thoughts on this.

Big D.

I would also like to add that the prices quoted there are at full retail and do not include shipping costs ,which would average between $16-$25 via UPS for Canada and the USA.

Canadian Members please note: Carbotech's Canadian Distrubitor(s) do not stock the pads or shoes for our T/T's, and must be ordered directly from them, though the parts for other makes and models are available.

BTW... Carbotech is the official brake pad of the United States Endurance Racing Association.

Now many of you may think that the cost of these brake pads and shoes are just plain crazy compaired to what you are used to paying... but I can assure you all that these are the real deal in true HP braking, and not all hype. (sorry...I'm just too busy to waste my time on here talking nonsense)

In the long run, these will be the cheapest and by far the best setup (over stock) that you will find IMHO. (for those using either Contour , SHO , or Taurus Police spec. modded setups, check out Carbotech's available listings)

Big D.

Well its been close to a month now since I posted this thread... so I have to ask... does no one else on here like to go deep into corners? Or had enough of burning up their brakes??

Btw... in order to save time, you can all just sign your ownerships over to me now... my parts stock is getting low. Laughing

Since I'm still learning, I'm not sure what all this is supposed to do. I am interested in things that will save money in the long run, though.Wink

Make your car safer to drive. (the savings would be in fewer tickets, and by perhaps not hitting something would save on maint. costs on bodywork as well as to the brakes themselves).
Would also save your life... would any of those three things be of interest to you???

J u s t ...asking... Smile

Quite honestly as much as i am interested in this braking system, i am just in the process of modding and installing full SHO police front and rear brakes. Just like Brian who did the SHO swap on his topaz. And V6 front sway bar :> heheh so much better :>

home depot, Carbotech should have listings for them as well, if not... just ask their tech people.

Well I use certanium brake pads. its a mix of ceramic and titanium I love them the hotter they get the more they brake.
so I will keep using them till I can't get them anymore. and I hope that is a life time.

While "hot doggin' it" with someone on a long twisty and very hilly road last week, my current cheap Parts Source brake parts faded away to near nothing , after 10 mins. of very hard driving.
I was shocked as to how bad and how quickly the shoes and pads faded after using the Carbotech stuff on my other Topaz.

If I'm to keep my current Topaz much longer , or want to push the car really hard again, I will need to swap out the shoes and pads before I take myself out.

Do they do rotors too, or no?

All I can tell you is that they used to source their rotors from up here in Canada, so I don't know what they have to offer us now.
You would have to contact them about having rotors cryo' hardened (right through and not just the surface).

Found out the other day that the Raybestos Prem. rotors from Napa is what they recommend.
Their racing customers have been using these along with the Carbotech pads .
I will try to find out from Napa as to what Canadian company that is produceing these rotors for Raybestos, when I go to price them for my /06 F-150 pickup.

My Carbotech front and rear pads are on order as of Tuesday.

Also found out that Carbotech now after long term race testing their pad friction materials ,as found that using cryo' hardened rotors is no longer required for race or street use.
