I did that once upon a time. An acquaintance had a nice Beetle body with a "bad" engine, and an ugly Beetle with a good engine. I told her I'd put the good engine in the
good body if I could have the "leftovers". Sweet deal. The bad engine wasn't all that bad; I put it all together for the princely sum of $70, drove it a few years, then sold
it for $300!

Dream car for me...

2006 Ford GT or an Aston Martin Vanquish V12 or DBS, in terms of money is no object.

In terms of dream car for a little less money, 2010 Ford Mustang GT500 or a 2008/09 Cadillac CTS-V

In terms of a dream Daily-Driver, I'd say a 2007 Dodge Magnum R/T AWD, or a 2005+ Volvo S60 R.

Nice looking car. I always like the looks of certain Mopars, just never dug the engines.

I've got the same type of Centerlines for one of my Tempo's. Came off of a Mustang. I know that they physically fit, but i've had problems with the offset. Don't know if different size tires can fix that or not, but don't want to find out the hard way. Sean

Watched the video on the GTTT.... Seriously, I'd give up EVERYTHING to live that life.

I'd up and leave my place, my job, my family, and dive right into the underground tuner/racer world.

The hardest thing would be leaving my girlfriend... Don't know if I could. ^^

I'm blown away by that thing. XD

I know right now, I'm going to be broke for the rest of my life, because I'm going to be blowing all my money on cars. lol It's already starting... I just bought new springs and I'm looking for new shocks.

My Tempo is going to be a sleeper- It's going to look like it's a granny car, but packs some serious punch. Maybe not run with the high-end ricers, but it'll turn heads for sure. Hopefully Portland International Raceway has open track days..

My gf's mom's husband died last year, and now she's dating again, and one guy she was with had a Corvette C6. Being a fellow carwhore, he offered me a ride. HOLY SHAT. I've never felt that much power. We went out for about 8 minutes, and he showed me how fast it gets up to 60 (around 4.5 seconds, going uphill), and even broke loose at a stoplight. Didn't do any hard cornering, but we probably went up to around 90 at one point.

What got me the most- HE GETS AROUND 25 MPG! Of course, spirited driving drops it to about 10, but as a daily driver, it's VERY economical.

Though my dream car is right here:

Supercharge that. XD

I want it in either Competition Orange, or Sonic Blue. Would even settle for yellow since it's kinda rare. Prefer blue but there is so many of them.

Truck wise, It'd be my F150 on rockwells, subframed, 4 linked, on air with 16" travel bags so I can drop it down to fit 38s and be barely street legal but fill the bags up and slap on some 46s or even some 48 terra tires.

I love Baja Beetles! I consider mine as my primary car and my tempo my secondary, even though im rebuilding the beetle engine (engine fire) and I dont know how to drive stick. My Beetle will be for the road only...

And I have some Centerline rims on it already, need to replace with beefier tires!

I plan on having a Eye catching exterior, and a really really comfortable clean, interior. GPS, Blue tooth, nice audio system, everything! I MUST have a train horn on it aswel. Not to use in the neighborhood ofcourse, but to scare those pedestrians in large parking lots (wal-mart for instance) who try to hurry and cross infront of you and slow down once their infront of you and look in the opposite direction. So annoying.

Then in a few years, im going to buy a really crappy looking beetle and put a high-cc engine in it, and that will be my "sleeper" car.

I know the feeling Mark. Back in my 20's, i had a multitude of different "muscle cars", pretty much all at the same time. These ranged from a 482" Weber equipped Joe Mondello built 1972 Olds 442, a 402" big block SS Chevelle, a turbo-charged 383" Chevy in an 1981 Trans Am, a 1978 Mustang Cobra with a dual quad cross-rammed, heavily cammed 302", a 1984 Z28 with a mildly modified 355 in it, a 1978 TA with a mildly modified Olds 403 and a basically stock 1975 Corvette Stingray and a 1975 Harley. Also had a 1988 Ford Cargo stretch van to haul all of my stuff around in. Even though it was far from being the fastest, my favorite out of the bunch was the little Mustang. Felt like i was wrapped in the cockpit of a small fighter plane Smile

Now, i have a 6 month old daughter and girlfriend that i spend a good chunk of my money on. The rest of it goes towards trying to keep my head above the rising tide of monthly bills. In the driveway, i have a small collection of Tempo's, a dinosaur of a 1988 Volvo, and a 1996 Ford E250. Still have the Vette and the Harley, even though neither of them has seen action in quite some time Sad

Oh, one more thing. No more car payments for me. Not for a while. Nowadays, i can barely afford just to look at new cars as they drive by Smile Sean

A whole bunch of years ago, I wanted a Triumph TR7... so I got 3 dead ones and made one beautiful one out of it

It taught me a valuable lesson: Sports cars are retarded. It was a *really* fun car, don't get me wrong, but that comes at a price. Wanna go shopping? can't. Wanna drive, slow and cautious for a month without garnering unnecessary police attention? can't. Camping? can't. Muddy shoes? can't. Got more than one friend? sorry! Oh you need a new air filter? That'll take 8 weeks to get one from England. Oh darn, the dual carbs are out of balance again! Oooh I don't want to park in THIS part of town! Hey what's that up ahead in the road, a gum wrapper? Better swerve to avoid it, might scrape the exhaust on it.. oh **** the pop-up headlights stopped working again!

F all that.

Gimme a Volvo C303 with an '80 vintage Benz diesel and a fuel preheater, and all those "cant" and "uh-oh" suddenly turn into "cool, ok let's do it!!"

I do tend to get, or get close to any car I really want though.. I always wanted a hearse so I got one:

Sold it to a surfer in CA a few years ago, I just couldn't give it the time it needed Sad

I wanted a Vehicross ever since I saw one in a magazine... guess my brother in law was thinking the same thing 'cause he got this one:

And I also hella wanted a ZR2 Blazer, so I got one

and then I did a little work to it

As soon as I find the right donor candidate it's getting a solid front axle.. hopefully this month
Cool

My buddy had a TR-7 back in the early 80's. He was about the same height that i was, and to me, that car was simply too small to be comfortable in. When he first got it, he put 2000 miles on it the first week that he had it!!! I don't think that he got out of that car other than to get gas or go to the bathroom. He LOVED driving it.

Only thing that he complained about was that it needed a motor, which made him want to find a TR-8. Got rid of it and bought a Mustang GT in 84 or 85. I remember him blabbering about how good he could drive the GT after taking it to the strip several times. The first time that i drove his car, i beat his best time by .4 in the quarter. He told me that i could never drive ANY of his cars ever again !!! Smile Sean
<

PS... When i first saw your pic, almost thought the TR-7 was a Fiat X1/9. At a quick glance, those cars really don't look all that far apart.
